Our aim is to ensure your child's two years at Blockhouse Bay Intermediate will be enjoyable and productive. At Blockhouse Bay Intermediate you can expect your child to be well taught and looked after. We hope that you will work with us to provide the best education possible for your child. We offer a supportive and positive environment in which our students can learn. We expect them to make the best of all opportunities offered.
At Blockhouse Bay Intermediate we will aim to educate the whole child. Learning and teaching inside and outside the classroom focuses on developing skills in the following areas:
Academic, by covering all seven areas of the NZ curriculum.
Social, by developing social skills through the Skills for Adolescence programme.
Cultural, by offering a wide range of activities including music, drama, dance and art.
Sporting, by offering both competitive and non-competitive sporting opportunities.
In each of these areas we offer support for those needing extra help and extension for those with special needs.
Blockhouse Bay Intermediate is a multicultural school, reflecting Auckland's diversity and we celebrate the rich character this adds to our school.
We extend a warm welcome to you as parents, caregivers and friends to become fully involved in our school life. You are welcome to visit our school at any time to discuss your child's needs. I look forward to meeting you at Blockhouse Bay Intermediate.
